Feeling pretty bummed.... Walked a couple new spots today. First spot was state land that bordered a big swamp. Pretty sure I was the first living creature to walk through there in the last 6 years. Second spot was a recommendation of a guy I used to work for. It looked great, tons of open property, LOTS of oak trees and acorns everywhere, nice ridges to sit on for watches. But it borders Private Land and I'm not too sure I was really supposed to be in there... Kind of at a loss right now. I've relied too heavily on my outback honey hole and now it's a Zoo with new houses being built, tons of human traffic, and the deer are getting driven out. They're holding up in people's yards and where they travel is just too close to civilization to hunt. I guess I'll head to my property next weekend and wander around hoping their in the mood to eat pine needles.

Got approved today for my first ever PAID VACATION from Nov 5-13th     

Hoping to connect with some type of antlered critter that week for the first time in a few years. I'll just need to find a new place to hunt. I think the old backyard spot is finally coming to an end. New land owners, a couple new houses being built, and more and more human traffic.  Not sure where to go, may be stuck on state land for a while

that is the week of my paid vacation to. i love the hunting just before the breeding phase best time of year to catch  a bruiser out looking for love

My refrigerator died. House stinks like bad meat . The freezer was stuffed, lots of venison and fish. Looks like I'll be dumping a big pile of coyote bait, may as well get something from the loss. I so didn't need this now, oh well, rolling on.
