Thanks guys, there's plenty of bucks around for sure, saw two fawns on the other camera so that's a good sign too. I finished the cutting today, didn't think I had any chance of finishing today this morning but I didn't have to much down time so it went pretty fast. It takes four full days to do 10 acres with this little brush hog. It's a decent enough little cutter but it isn't designed to cut hay so most of it was cut at a walking pace.

The deer actually seem to like the pasture grass, not that some standing corn wouldn't be nice. I've been hoping to run into the farm hand to find out when they hope to cut it. I think that the August grass cutting helps since there is more exposed new growth for September and October. I have two cameras in the crab apples, the deer should start hitting them pretty hard. Got pics of deer on them but just does and a small buck so far. I think I ran over a failed turkey nest in the grass, had a large egg break on the front tire that didn't smell to nice. I never found where it came from though.

Here's a couple ladies at one of the crabapple trees. The second pic is two fawns, not sure if they are twins or with these three does. I have two cameras in the crabapples now so they should come up with some good pics in the next month.

Oh almost forgot how do you like the Swisher Bush Hog ; Been looking at a  60 " inch mower real real cheap
Got a 14.5 Briggs motor with electric start ; But much rather have the bush hog ....

After 120 hours with one so far I have plenty of opinions  ;D. Mechanically it's pretty well made and the only problem I remember having was the shroud getting loose and the recoil coming off. I used 15-20 gallons of gas between both for the whole job. The swisher ran for 1.5 hours per tank. As a brush hog it works very well; saplings, brush, vines type of stuff. For tall grass 3-4' it isn't ideal as I have to cut at a speed where I could have walked next to the mower for 80% of the field or it would bog down. That is probably a 48-50" machine, but it only really cuts the tall grass about 2/3 of the blade since it slides over the stuff that folds down the same direction as the rotation. As you probably know those units are belt driven, I have to replace a belt a day probably (10-12 hours). The belt is a bit difficult because of the guard and tension pulley, not to mention it all being very hot. The belts may last longer if you don't cook them like I do though. I had an idea last week actually, I saw an old saw mill blade and think that one the right diameter would work great in place of the two hinged brush blades as long as you only had it in the grass.

I can say from trying that the 12hp rider wouldn't cut the thick stuff even after the hog went over it. Either that or my buddies mower has something way out of balance.
