early sheds?

My son and I found some sheds and a one antlered buck in muzz. season. It seams a little early to be. There is plenty of food so I wonder what causes the early drop. Any ideas?

I thought they dropped in mid jan - march

Every deer is different.  I've seen buck drop their antlers in Dec. and hold them till the end of April.  It depends on the bucks testosterone levels and their fluctuation.
