Barley's grouse hunt

Took a couple weeks off work and decided to  hunt one last time with Barley before deploying for a while.  Birds were all around us and easy to hunt with the latest snowfall.  We had a great time!  6 birds all a mixed bag with ruffed, spruce, and sharptails.  No ptarmigan this time...

Nice pics and a great hunt before you go!  Barley looks like a big size lab!  My Chocolate (Ranger) is over 100 lbs and mostly all muscle.  Does Barley flush the birds as well or just retrieve?  Stay safe over there and we'll keep praying for a safe and speedy return for all you guys that are protecting us.

Thanks Bobman-  Barley is 106 lbs. and is now on a diet!  Vet said he was a little chubby and needed a good diet and more workouts, (don't we all!)  He is pretty muscular from his love of swimming.  He flushes and retrieves  better with age, but prefers the H2O.  Gotta love those labs!   Thanks for the prayers Bobman!   -Barleydog

Hey Bd. I couldnt agree more about labs. They are my favorite dogs as well. Great hunting dogs as well as companions. Nice pics.
