Bottineau

Headed out to ND  in Sept. For some bow hunting. How is the deer heard looking in  the Bottineau area this year?

Should be good, mild last two winters good deer survival and record low number of gun buck tags last year.  So lots of big bucks on trail cams.  Good luck!  Next week high temp in 60's

Oh yeah don't forget your bluegill fishing tackle Lake Metigoshi is considered one of the best spots in US for lots of big Bulls if u tag out early.   Locals don't fish for them much.  Dave Genz favorite spot.

Sweet! Funny you say that, the place we are staying is just up the road from Metigoshi and we have access to a pontoon boat. We will definately give it a try. Only a week and a half away!

Update: hunted the past couple of days seen plenty of does and fawns within bow range but have passed on them so far. Great being out and seeing deer still a few more days to hunt.

What a great hunting trip with my Dad. Passed on many doe's & lambs unfortunately I hit and lost a decent doe, tracked her for a couple of hours had decent blood but could not recover her. I think I hit her a little high. Highlight of the trip was Dad connecting on this really nice 10-point:
