Coupon code "freeship27" seemed to work too. Got three for $98 no shipping charge ;D.
-
Just got one.. For $43 I guess its worth a try....
-
The main thing I found when researching it was to make sure you use a 16GB or less SDHC Card, and it has to be a Class 2 for some reason. There is a symbol on most cards that is a number inside a letter "C". Class 2 are the slower cheaper ones. I really like the time lapse over the sensor for patterning critters.
-
I will be searching for a deal on 16GB class2 cards, I'll let you know if I find something. Hoping to find a bulk deal.
-
Cool.. Let me know what you find... I can use a new one....
-
wow, might have to buy some, does it function as a regular one as well?
-
For that price I got 2 ; Something else for the arsenal ;) ;)
-
Thanks for this link JL!!
Has anybody ever used one of these before? How many days can it cover before running out of space? Certainly can't beat the price, but if it can't last 2 weeks then I'm not sure it would be a good fit for me.
-
Not sure how they work but it is a heck of a deal...I am posting this and getting off this thread now and never to return... :o :o :o :o
-
It does not work as a triggered camera, time lapse only. The amount of pictures depends on picture size and number/frequncy of pics taken. It will take up to a 16GB (CLASS 2) card, so multiple the number below by size of card and how many pics you want per day (ie, two hours at dawn and then two at dusk and a pic every minute is 4hours x 60 pics=240 per day)
Resolution Picture count stored with 2GB SD Card
LOW 640 x 480 ---10,994
MEDIUM 1280 x 720 ---3,206
HIGH 1920 x 1080 ---1,749
FINE 3264 x 2448 ---961
VIDEO 640 x 480 ---274**
*Estimates. Actual capacity will vary based on image properties
-
ah ok, getting one anyway! should work in an open area, but I could put it on a food plot back home

Thanks STKA!!! I looked at the specs but couldn't find any info on storage space.

I found a great deal on the 16GB Class2 SDHC cards, but my secondary email I use for buying stuff is locked so I can't order them yet :-\. Only $7 a piece too, compared to 20-50 elsewhere.
-
Hopefully they work - I just bought 3, one for each of my foodplots. Certainly less expensive then the game camera...
-
I'm hoping to set a couple on my treestands to see what's moving through when. Hoping they won't spook the mature bucks like the trail cams if I mount them high looking down and deactivate the flash.

thats what I was thinking, but it back away from and facing my stand to get it in the picture maybe....find any deals on regular trigger cams? www.newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com) usually has killer deals on cards

That sure is well worth that price ; Save where & how you can ; could you pm me
-
thanks for the link steve....that is one heck of a deal...
-
cant wait to test mine out! mounting near stand should work just as fine as mounting over plot, but I have a few plots so if it doesnt then I can always move it!
-
I'm not sure I understand how the time lapse thing works... Is it motion activated??
-
It just takes a picture every X minutes, whether there is something active in the frame or not. Just like the webcams that aren't streaming, but refresh with a new static image every few minutes or seconds.
-
So it can miss a lot of the critters?

its basically set up so you can see to and where the critters are coming around the prime times you will be hunting the area

What! There goes the homebrew money. ;D ;D That is a pretty good deal.
-
If they don't work well I can use the cases, probably not much more than buying an empty one ;).
-
Always thinking stka. ;)

I just ordered SD cards from Ebay, they are cheap off brand ones but are 16GB Class 2 so I'm hoping they work well. Here's a link to them there, but you may want to wait for me to try them out and make sure they work first ;).

There's no sense bringing them to camp, all you;re going to get are moose, & that's if they didn't log that area.

I'm hoping they Don't ; But there are on the other side of the Mountian doesn't look good :(
-
My cameras arrived today - I guess it's time to plant the garden so I have something to take pictures of....
-
Make sure you use a class 2 SD card, didn't read anything about a software fix to make it accept other speeds. The class is shown with a number inside a "C" like this C2. I didn't have a single class 2 SD in the house.

Thanks STKA - I'll make sure to do that.

Ran the cam through two cycles yesterday on medium quality (1280x720) and the pics weren't great. Will set it to high (1920x1080) when I put it out, that will allow me over 13000 pics on a card. SD card seemed to work fine.
