I scoreed him several weeks ago ago at 153 3/8 ( my dad said i was being very generous ;) haha), it has some small tines shooting of the bases at the front, do thos count in scoring as well?

Nice. The small tines must be at least an inch to score. They will be included as part of the gross score but are deductions as part of the net.

Well, we got back last week, we did not shoot anything, but we did have our chances. Seeing as how my dad and I both have either sex late season elk draws we decided we were only going to shoot a decent buck. Unfortunately the deer were really spooky and would not give us a shot. I had one buck where i came around a tree and he standing at 15 yrds. staring at me, (he was probably 30 inches wide and would have scored in the mid 160's) but his whole body was covered and the only shot i had was under the chin, and by the time i got my gun up and looked thorugh the scope he had jumped over the ridge, and was gone. ON another occaison we had a buck at abpout 80 yrds ( in the trees) and we were looking st him for about 10 mins. and could not count his tine, he appeared to be very wide and tall but his antlers were right in the sticks. Every time he turned his head my dad wasn't looking ( it was right at last light and he has a 14 power scope) so he finally had enough and sauntered over the ridge never to be seen again. On the other end of the spectrum, our friend steve ( who we go hunting with) saw a buck that was at least 160 and passed on him as he only wants a deer that will score about 175 or better. Nonetheless a great trrip was had by all and i was succsessful in harvesting 11 mice. :)
