Grunted @ me?

Last nite went into my stand for some more prep work. (clearing lanes, etc.) While taking my time walking in I am 95% positive I was grunted at. Wish I had my call with me to answer back. I must have woke him up from his nap, think he was looking for company? (never saw or heard any movement)

Happened to me 2 weeks ago when clearing brush along the property border while hangning posted signs. I think the buck thought I was another buck thrashing brush around in his territory.

The doe I shot last week was making deep grunts the whole way in? Sounded like a buck.

Had it happen last year getting into a stand during bow. Thought I was hearing things but apparently just the noise of my boots rubbing on the tree getting in did the trick
