i use a tru glow 3 pin fiber-optic with a light i used to shoot 1 pin but got jabbed in the eye 2 years ago and things are a little blurry at 20+ yards so the 30 and 40 yard pins help and like zach said most bows nowadays only need 1 pin at 20 yards 10 15 20 25 yards just put it right on itll hit pretty much the same spot just ajust a little from 30-40 yards and if you shoot past 40 you dont need any help your the man ;)

I have HHA OL5000 on both of my bows.  I shoot better with one pin setups.  Just me I guess.

why just you with any new bow they are fast enough that 1 pin can shoot inside a pie plate at 10-30 yards

i have used only one pin for yrs. i sight it in for 25 yrds and adjust from there . you raise the pin on the target if it is farther than that.this does take some practice and that is what the range is for.due to the area i hunt the max shot in the woods is 25 to 30yrds because of the trees and brush cover.

i see alot of guys that shoot a single pin and are dialed right in from 10-30 yards with very little if any adjustment. most new bows are all the same and can hit hit 10-30 yards with a single pin.

buy it or not, i can only go by what i have been told and seen and done. also the ics 300 is for 70-80#, you should try the 340, but those specs are on a 29" draw and i have no idea what your size is (not being a know it all just trying to help). i am kind of biased though i shoot and love gold tips expidition hunter i shoot a 5575 389 grain arrow and also 100 grain tips. at 300 fps the impact of an arrow takes 0.102 sec to hit a target at 10 yards and 0.314 to hit at 30 yards so if your arrow is droping 4" in less of a span than that you need a faster bow or to stick with 3 pins. but a 3 year old hoyt at 68# should be shooting between 280 and 300 fps. plus if you read back i said any new bow can hit a pie plate between 10-30 yards, but if your are a copmetitive shooter than you need to be a little more exact, the only score in hunting is boone and crocket. i used to shoot competitivly but gave it up, lol wife said i had to many hobbies.
sorry if i sound argumentitive just giving my .02, as long as you can hit a vital when it counts, thats all that matters.

3-4" groups? hell my 11 year old shoots that at 20 yards but she has been shooting since she was 7.

hey spiker2, since you dislocated your shoulder im going in your stand this year and taking your quad out, me and devil-man will cruise out together ;D we will save you some steaks for the hardwater ;)

yeah i caught that at the end of what i wrote, lol. i didnt feel like deleting everything i wrote, but i highly doubt a 68# 3 year old bow drops 4" in 15 yards. i was gonna go to the range and mesure my drop between 15 and 30 yards but i just got home from work and am too tired :P

on a non argumentative note, here in western new york the temps are gonna drop nicely this weekend, sat. has a high of 45 ;D making me real eager for next weekends bow opener. then on to ice fishing ;D

here was my info on beman
http://www.huntersfriend.com/arrowhelp/arrow-selection-6.htm

also if you were selected for a 300 then your draw is 30" my info was, as i said, based on 29" draw, wich is the average. for a 30" draw you are probably around 6'3" based on your draw length being your height in inches divided by 2.5, like me i am 5'10" and shoot 28" draw.

You could argue til the cows come home, but a deers vital zone is a forgiving area, you dont have to part a flea's hair at 300 yards!! :D If you shoot competetively, well then I guess its vital to dial in. You owe it to your quarry to be able make a quick, clean kill. I've been shooting carp all summer long, with no sights, so I have to get my overdraw back on and throw some bemans, pronto!!
