i was looking at a metthews bow the other day a was thinking of buying it. it was the matthews mission x3. it was a decsend price for a matthews and was wondering if anyone has heard anything good/bad about this bow. i know that they have different versions of thw mission (x3,x4,x5) and the x3 is the lower end of the bows.

i found out that the mission was a brand made by matthews but not directly made by them. kind of like bennelli and stoger. have you had any problems with it at all?

Look at the Matthews FX if you are looking at lower end Matthews.  I believe they still make this model.  They start around $ 475.00.  i decided on this model a few years ago and haven't regretted it.  Might not have the bells and whistles as the higher end models, but it has an 85% let off, is short, light, compact and spits an arrow as fast as any of there other models.

If your going to but a mathews bow (i wouldn't buy any other) save your money and buy a good one. If your going to be hunting with it I'd go with either the switchback or the new drenalin..You can get good deals on used switchbacks as everyone is trading them in on the new drenalin. I have a switchback and can not part with it.

I bought the X3 and have nothing bad to say about it.   The owner of the archery shop that I bought it from was not pushing the X4 or X5 very hard.  As he put it, aside from the camo finish on the riser the only ‘notable’ difference between the models is the price, $100 more for the X4, $200 for the X5.  I personally like the black riser on the X3, something different from the norm.
