Here's a few quick pics with the phone an a recap of today's hunt. Post better pics and the video after some editing and have Internet.

Got up at 4 got everything ready and pulled into the spot by 5 and started hoofing it across the field to where my buddy had seen the birds leave the field last night.   After walking 3/4 the way there I hit my owl hooter and 4 birds gobbled.  We walk the rest of the way and get all set up.  At 545 two hens fly down and behind them the 4 toms strut out to the field about 80 yrds away.  Let out a few calls birds gobbled back but didn't want to leave the hens and headed back up the hill into the woods around 630.  So we packed it up and hiked up the hill an set up a bunch of placed with no avail.  At 9 it's started to rain pretty hard so we left an set up a blind in the field at another spot.  Called in 3 toms an a group of hens there that didn't come out into the field but stayed back in the woods with some hens gobbling like crazy one point they were close enough we could hear them spitting.   One of hen hens started walking circles around the decoy purring and clucking really cool to see. Then it just opened up an down poured and they stoped gobbling an left.  So we hung it out for a while and at 1030 we saw a bird come out into the field 5-600 yards away let a few calls out and he came all the way in to 25 yards when I let him have it.  These new double x Winchester loads really put the smach down on them this bird didnt even flinch after.

Well slow morning so far toms we saw leave the field last night into the small wood lot went the other way this morning. Had another Tom enter the field an start working our way but 8 hens came from the field on the other side of the road and be started following them. Birds have been pretty quite since the fly down. Have  one bird gobbling off in the distance may try after him once we can get out of the blind with out spooking the birds.

Today was pretty much a bust never really worked any birds walked up an along this ridge for the rest of the morning and only heard two gobbles which where locked up with no hens.  Thought the birds were going to be a lot more talkative today after the wash yesterday and rain holding off all morning  but didnt happen.  Back at it again tmrw though .
