.410 for turkeys
« on: Apr 04, 2007, 11:55:27 AM »
I have a .410 revolver. Anyone ever use a .410 for turkeys? I think it would be a great challenge.

Always enjoy your posts adk, but a 410??  I'm willing to bet that you will have many more cripples than kills.  By the way, nice pictures of the turkeys!

I patterened it and it is good to about 15 yards. It would have to be close. I may just use it as a back up to my single shot 12 guage but it sure would be fun to get a turkey with it. I've managed to take two squirrels with it so far.

....as long as he knows the limits of the gun there wont a cripple...since you patterned it out to 15 yards..i imagine to that distance there would be no difference.....your still hittin there heads with the same amount of pellets.

I didn't even know there was such a thing as a .410 ga. smooth bore revolver. For any sized game, that would be a challenge.

The revolver is the .410/.45 taurus. aka "the Judge" Sweet gun. I just shot a red squirrel with it. I keep 2 .410's in there for the squirrrels and two .45's in there Just in case I need them for other pests.  It is a sweet and accurate gun. It's been advertised on the out door channel.

It's not legal to shoot turkeys with a .410 here in maine, maybe if its legal you could try shooting .410 slugs, but I'd stick with a 12 or a 20 if i were you

Nice looking gun. I'm glad you posted a picture, something about my computer won't let me go anywhere on their site besides their home page.
