Cornbead you make me glad I hunt here. Only thing to fear in the dark here is scaring a skunk or some DB shooting you. Can't say I'd be walking through your woods in the dark with just a bow.

They say you have to be in great shape to hunt this area but what they don't tell you is that it isn't because it is so steep ( even though it is REALLY steep here ), it is actually so your heart can handle the walk out in the dark from your stand or blind after you see fresh grizzly tracks and while you are creeping along in the dark you have a grouse flush out from under your feet. If your heart can take that kind of pucker factor you know you have a good ticker :)

Yeah that is true Cornbread, the only thing I haveto worry about is a horned up Bull Moose............ You must get all sorts of jacked up walking out every night. Eerie feeling but must feel good at the same time once you hit the truck.....
It's not being cocky if you can back it up!

I just hunt here at my house on the property I live on and the public land it backs up against (national forest) so I am walking back to the house each night but I have had them do their business on my driveway before so I know they come all the way down near the house sometimes. Last one we saw was just before rifle deer season started. It was a mom with three cubs and it was in the trees about 40 yards from my house.
