Tough morning for us.  Worked a handful of birds early, but they all got henned up got silent and moved off.  Did manage one boone and crockett tick in the middle of my back i had to extract this afternoon...always fun.  Back at it in the am.

Took Nick out again Sunday morning, and we had a hen come in and hang out for a while.  Heard quite a few gobbles, but didn't see any toms or jakes.  We moved to three different locations, but could get any shootable birds to play.  With the looks of things we'll be out again next weekend.  Everything is flooded and I don't think we'll be walleye fishing.

Didn't hear any gobbles last night but saw birds headed to roost in 2 places. Saw one big hen and heard others scratching in the woods at one spot; then saw a nice tom headed towards a knob and figured he'd be roosted there this morning. Snuck in before sunup and set up, he wasn't there. Heard some gobbles below and to the left; they stopped after hearing someone moving around calling. Started hearing gobbles to the right and they eventually came closer. Heard a gobble close in front of me and turned on the camera:

Need to work on aiming better and using the zoom; also gonna try to hold the bow steadier. That was a good trial run with some jakes.

Sat the other spot from 10-12 and had no action; did see birds at another spot in between and decided to back out for tomorrow morning.

That little camera does pretty good JJ. It takes some practice self filiming and is no easy task. Are you hunting public land?

Nice and clear JJ. Tough to hold it still by hand though.

Finally got one to gobble in the evening, he answered my crow and owl callls; first spot I checked tonight and the same place I sat from 10-12 this morning. Gonna have to head there first thing tomorrow, sounded like a good bird.

Saw 6 deer, one was bedded; weren't moving as early as yesterday.

Private and public, things are probably a little different up here, lots of land. Also, I can get into a lot of spots with the bow that wouldn't allow guns.  ;)
