Saturday afternoon walk
« on: Nov 01, 2010, 06:33:19 PM »
Took a lap around our Amish friend's property looking for a few squirrels or rabbits.  I stayed out of the woods since he was going to sit in a stand with his bow, so no squirrels.  The rest is 5% brush hogged, and 95% thick scrub. Kicked up a few bunnies, but only heard them never saw them.  Saw two little rubs, and then heard a much bigger rustle in the brush as a deer-sized noise headed south in a hurry.  Kept walking the brush hogged paths, and about 60 yards later, found this less than 60 yards east of my pop's stand (but just out of sight).

And this less than 20 yards west of the stand, and no blind spot   :D  (No rub above it - just a piece of wild grape vine hanging from a branch farther up put of reach)

Kicked up two bedded does just inside the edge of the woods about 30 yards further on.

I think I may use pop's stand a bit come November 20th!

I'm bound to stay where you sleep all day, Where they hung the jerk that invented work, in the Big Rock Candy Mountains.
