It take a while for the population to recover up there, that sucks...

Raquett---it was just a local kill--most of the hunters in Northville area raised heck about ,many friends live near the yard too--early winter and alot of deer in the area go to there to winter, season was still open and and it was like shooting chickens in a pen--locals said it sounded like a war, they estimated 200 doe's and 50 bucks were killed in 1 week in one spot-thats when tthe DEC had a meeting at northville high school and listened to the hunters for once--the DEC did change the 5H line from county rt4 to southerly to rt30 to Gloversville then up rt29 so 5H around the deer yard would not have a late Blackpowder season.also in my area the DEC shot-I believe- around 24 deer in the spring 2 years ago looking for cronic waisting disease--and not many heard about this-------------------disclaimer--note some of my facts may be close but not exact---

I have a good friend that lives in Northville, old timer and great sportsman taught me alot about huntin and fishin.  He used to run a Charter Boat near my house and I used to work for him.  We used to take Paul Bradt fishing and I came up there and he showed me his museum right in the center of town.  Pretty neat!  I always remember the Bald Eagle that he had mounted in there and all the other awesome mounts.  If I remember right he had mounts of deer from a unicorn all the way to 12 point, I think he was missing and never killed an 11 point...long time ago but something and a person I always remembered.  My friend has a cabin up there way back in the woods...beautiful place, 100% hand made cabin...

My friends name is Jim Vroman..he lives way up on a hill back in the woods, been a long time, I think is was like King Road or something like that...?  I use to work for him on Lake Ontario...Scorpio Charters from age 12-18...He was a master Adirondack Hunter...he had a giant 11 point at his house mounted and a giant 13 point at his house all killed hunting way back in, I believe near Pharoh Lake in a wall tent...he taught me a lot about hunting and the woods and fishing too...!  Great guy, he was friends with Paul...
