Title: Need some help
Post by: The 3Ps on Jan 01, 2022, 06:11:19 AM
Looking for a varmint Gun to hunt coyotes. I would prefer a semi auto over bolt but not sure I want a a AR style. I have heard the AR is the better choice because of all the rail space to mount on extra accessories. Looking at the 223, 22-250 or 243 because that's the smallest caliber I would use for Deer. What are your thoughts?

If your going o hunt deer with it also go with the 243 otherwise I do like the 22/250 for varmits.

Torn on the 243 as I hunt deer with a 30-06 primarily.  If I go 22-250 or 223 it's an exclusive firearm for varmint where the 243 is more universal. If I was hunting out west or Midwest a bolt I feel would be more than adequate. Here things will happen a bit closer and feel a semi auto is best for the situation I plan on putting myself in.
