Dove Season
« on: Sep 08, 2008, 02:59:29 PM »
Hey Guys,

Never been dove hunting before so I'm going to try my luck.  Went and ran the dogs 1 Sep at the Chase only WMA in Virginia.  They flushed 17 dove so I was a happy camper.

Anyone have any tips for dove hunting?

Thanks,
TReed

We hunted on the 9/1 and had great success for the turtle doves even with the 30 mph winds. We all limited out.

J,

Great job....the birds have finally started picking up in the last couple weeks.  I'm headed to Iowa end of the week for pheasant opener there.

What area are you in?

I Live About 35 miles south of Denver we go out to Flagler, Colorado or Lamar, Colorado to hunt doves. They are both located in southeastern Colorado. We usually do pretty good on doves unless first frost comes early then the hunting sucks.
