voice calls

Anyone use their vioce to call in turkeys?

It is the only call I can figure out how to use, and I can do about anything I want to including gobble and it at least drives tame turkeys crazy...   Haven't had the chance to try it one wild ones yet...  I called a turkey in last fall, but I was in a tree stand for deer so it must have thought it strange that the turkey was still in a tree so it left after talking about 15 mintues.

I have been trying to do this for a while now. I have become pretty good with a goggle and yelp but I can't get the volume. This year before season I had the wife and kids in the car with me. There was a nice gobbler along side the road. I tried for the heck of it to see if it worked. He gobbled like crazy. I don't believe in preseason calling so we then left so not to disturb to much, but was amazed it worked.

I have gotten some decent volume  ( people say I have a big mouth so maybe that is why!!!), but it strains the voice and the gobble gives me a headache!!!!  lol  Can't wait to really use it!!!

The only call I'll make verbally is a cluck to raise their head.

I can't wait to try it as I have fooled many humans so far, and have had some turkeys answer it, so I am gonna try it!!! I probably won't even take another call with me. I even fooled a guy that heard me at 200 yards cross winds. I was surprised that he heard it that far away.

I think humans are easier to fool than turkeys, Reuben.  ;)

I have heard some guys that were very good at calling vocally.
Gander had a turkey thing going on yesterday (it's there today, too).
It was great- they had over 50 calls that were on display and you can try them out.

I know humans are easier than turkesy but since I stink worse at other calls I am gonna see if I can fool more turkeys.

This is not quite on-topic but it does pertain to voice calling.
I have been able to call in red-tailed hawks this Spring.
That special crazy-man yell seems to get their attention.
It's pretty cool.

had a chance yesterday to check out my mouth calling. it seems to work very well, called 2 toms in. had them 40yrds away from my back door. the son thought it was great. at one point i had them tripple goblin. they were with hens but seemed more interested in the calling. hope they are that way in 2weeks. if so i will not need to walk that far. just out the back door ;D
