LET'S GO!  :o
I have already stretched and did my turkey dance.
I have been waiting for this day and am heading to the park.

I set up in the wrong place, as usual.
The birds decided to fly down to the flat instead of walk. They flew right over me!
That's ok though, it was a nice morning in the woods, and I learned something.
Next time I will be down there waiting...

I had a shot, but it was about 80 yds. Last time I checked you're not allowed to hunt turkeys with a rifle in NYS. How did everyone else do?

Did you learn anything, J?  ;)
It's one thing to get farked up fishing.
You can't do it if you're going hunting.
Get out there!

I only saw two turkey yesterday.  The first one was in an open field on the hill opposite from where I was hunting  >:(!  The second one was as I was leaving.  I was walking down a power line the runsover the hill I was hunting and about half way down the hill (I was hunting the top of the hill of course) I heard a commotion in the briars along the power line and a turkey flew out.  If it had been fall I could have shot it on the wing but since I couldn't see what it was, no shot!  Other than that I saw 4 deer, half dozen geese, bunch of hawks and a partridge in a pear tree!

Sure was fun to get snowed on in May, wasn't it?  Good luck to the rest of you!
Their comin' right for us!

saw only 1 bird yesterday but that is all i needed to see. was in the woods by 0600. out by 0715am. just doesn't get any better than that. could have gone after another one but you know the rules. 1 bird per day.hopefully he will be there for this w/e. he can match his brother with a bean bag head ;D

I hope so, too!
The devil in me is feeling animosity towards turkeys these days.  :o
I'll be leaving for the park soon. I have to get there earlier and hike further than on Sunday.

LOL
They got me again. It was raining, cold, and miserable.
I heard those same birds again, but didn't see them today.
