Heres my second biggest buck to date. This was about the 10th buck I have seen in the past two weeks, and finally a shooter.
I got out at 1:00, made a slow hour long .5 mile walk to my spot. Set out a doe estrous smoke stick, done afew buck grunts when I first got there, then when everything settled down and my stick was 2/3 done burning done a series of estrous doe bleats, and 5-10 minutes latter he stepped out into the meadow at 250 yards with his nose down and coming in fast. I let him come to 75 yards, broadside, and dropped him in his tracks with the .300 wsm. Had him gutted and loaded and driving back to town by 3:30, pretty short hunt. Just scored him at 151 gross, 143 5/8 net.
My 1st pic turned out pretty good, considering I had my camera set on top my thermos ontop my backpack, it worked!
I also happened to see a bigger one this evening chasing some does, they were on the move today.

Right on that is sweet. I also shoot my PB this year we hunted him really hard and finally got into the perfect situation friday morning. He grossed 133 and netted 128 would have stayed 140 even if he wouldn't of got beat up the night before and busted his g-4 from 5 to 1 inch and shaved his g-1 and 3 both down about and inch. all in all he was great buck for my 3 years of hunting and that now bosts my deer count to 7......safety on....... l8ter
Now on to ice fish'n hey MasterAngler

I'll get a European mount. I have one full head mount (left), so now I'll get something different. You can only have so many full mounts.

Damn that's a nice buck. Very dark rack. Is that normal for your area?

Thanks guys. That was in the Duck Mountains, in Manitoba. The dark antlers are fairly common for the area, even with small ones. Should look good with a european mount, white skull with the dark antlers.
Now time for some serious ice fishing!

Great picture taking by yourself. I just posted my buck that was taken on the Sask side of the Duck Mountain forest just 3 miles from Man border. It seemed that the cold weather brought the bucks out of the forest and into the meadows and adjacent fields.
Great job!
