Chicken of the Woods

Has anyone ever eaten these,,I've seen these alot near me but have been afriad to try them,today a friend gave me a bag of them and said to sawtee them in butter for 20 minutes ,he said he eats them all the time--!!!!!!!!¿

Next door neighbor is a mushroom junkie - he had a fresh one about two weeks ago.  I think most mushrooms tend to follow a KISS principle for cooking - just a little butter or oil, and light amount of spice to add flavor.

I stick to a few wild kinds only but i"ll try these tomorrow.Unless you want to try them tonight and call me tomorrow that your OK----

WOOOOOOOOOOOO-------The Magic Mushrooms in Woodstock did that to me in 69,Amanitas,took a trip and never left the farm....i was only 11 then.....

Beefsteak are much much better than chicken of the woods..you can eat these if you have to ,if your in the woods and starving to death eat these and mix them with 2 pounds of venison and a 6 pack of beer,brownies and milk for desert!!!!!

Found the first ones of the season today.  Sauteed them up and added them to alfredo.  Very mild flavor.
