I've been idle for a month chomping at the bit for a new season to open so I had another tag. I had been watching a gorgeous 9 pt. all month but it was taken opening morning of Muzzleloader and I had to change plans. I pulled a stand and hung it on new property that was freighted with sign. This afternoon I had 9 does milling around me and when it was safe I pulled out the grunt tube and did a set. No sooner I see rack In the swamp grunting and headed to me. When he got to 20 yards he turned broadside and I put the muzzleloader on him got the crosshairs nestled on the vitals and squeezed. Double lung. he went 15 yards and started whobbling and fell. Dressed out at 171 lbs. and carries 6 pts. Off to Maine with the rifle now.
