Canada Hunting Questions

Is it possible for a US citizen to go on an unguided hunt in Canada without going through an outfitter company? I am very interested in hunting in eastern Canada (Quebec and Newfoundland provinces) but I do not wish to book a guide service. I would just like to purchase the license and tags and hunt public land, if that is possible. I know this is the forum for Manitoba hunters but it seems to be the most active. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It all depends on which Province you want to hunt, and what you want to hunt for.
Here in Manitoba you could hunt deer and birds I think without the outfitter, but that's it.
Try checking some Provincial web sites

Here's a link to the Manitoba hunting regulations. It will have information on non-resident hunters and phone numbers you can call for more info.
