Those last two bucks are actually the same deer, second one is a video. I'm real happy with the time stamps ( I fixed the date), I hope they stay on the same pattern through bow season. Now that I've got that area good and stunk up from putting the stand up I'm going to try to stay out and let it settle back down. There are quite a few acorns dropping there, it's a red oak in front of the camera/stand, but there is a good mix of red and white oaks. A lot of beechnut as well, not sure if the deer eat the beechnut since they're so hard.

Beechnut or Butternut STKA? Beechnuts are deer candy...I've never seen them eat Butternut though.

I'm not sure if they're beech, they look like little walnuts with a green outer hull that splits into four pieces. That pic was just a random spot under 10yds from the new stand, the ground is covered like that all over. I was at a little party in Guilderland yesterday and they have a good acorn crop too.

Sounds like Beechnuts. They are a favorite of deer. I sit a lot in the beech areas, with the winter beech that usually is around them the deer feel comfortable and will wander around at any time of the day. You've got it all there by the sounds....

So here's what the area looks like. The wooded land to the south has no hunting at this time. The dots are my current stands. I would like to put a stand near the pond in the strip of woods next to the power lines, but NiMo is going to widen the lines and cut all that down. I didn't realize until I looked at the tax map today how much woods they owned on the north, that blue stand is where I got the pic/vid of the 7-8pt. The light blue on the east is a new road and neighborhood not shown yet.
