I have a clam 2000 shanty,,  any know of a good way to anchor it down on a windy day,,  we had an incident the other day   learned why guys use anchors the hard way

Here's a complete kit. I like eskimos screws more than any other for ease of use, most others are hard to get started. You could probably make straps and use screw in tree steps for free. You could also use lag bolts and a ratchet (or cordless drill).

These are the eskimo anchors, you can see the narrow taper most others don't have. It makes a huge difference.

I used to bring an old hand drill (auger style) to make pilot holes for my brothers screws they're so hard to get started. That would probably work well with lag bolts actually .

Was thinking of a cordless drill for a pilot hole for now. I was planning on looking into a few real Ice Anchors like climbers use.

I've used the cordless, but the old one worked real well and weighed a lot less when walking and dragging a sled. Those climbing ones look awesome, but are to expensive for me.

Hunt and I are going to be at Kittery Trading post for his celebrity appearance next week and I know they have gear. Thought I would look for a bargain. Maybe one of those little hand pilot augers they make for tree pegs would be the ticket.
