How is it more dangerous than the early muzzleloader season? Or any other firearms season for that matter? With just a little bit of common sense and firearms safety it will be just as safe, or dangerous as any other kind of hunting. You guys are missing the big picture, on opening day of deer season there are nearly HALF A MILLION hunters in the woods. There will be 16,000 kids throughout the entire state out hunting that weekend. That is a drop in a bucket.
It is no more dangerous , imo EVERY TIME you step foot in the woods is dangerous and if 1/2 of the 16000 show up it will be a success . It will not affect me and if it does I will adapt and overcome  ;) Anyone who views Hunt's passion on the subject as anti Kids in any way is just wrong .... He is simply opposed to the way the state handled the whole mess right from the get go , and I aggree with him on many points , but to me it is what it is and I hope it gets kids in the woods  8)
