What Broadheads Do You Shoot?
« on: Jul 27, 2013, 01:10:26 PM »
I have been thinking about switching over to mechanical broadheads.  I currently shoot 100 grain 3 blade Muzzys.  Don't really have a reson to switch over since the Muzzys have been treating me good over the years, but I know the mechanicals fly better.  Whats everyones opinion?

I currently shoot both the wasp jak hammer and the steel force SOB. I love them both. If you are looking  to get a mechanical I'd  highly recommend Wasp jak hammer is the best mechanical I have shot I get great penetration as good as fixed.

I shot Muzzys till I switched to Rage. I liked them but got sick of the cost. I'm shooting Magnus Stinger 2 blade now. Free lifetime warranty on them. Just send it back and they replace it.

Should be able to shoot pretty much any head you want if you are at 60lbs or more draw weight. It's tough to beat a sharp durable fixed head. I have 2" grim reapers now, but will either get 1.375-1.5" reapers or go back to a one piece fixed head like a G5 montac style next time I switch.

I have been shooting mechanicals since 2000, for multiple personal reasons but I love the fact that they shoot just like practice tips every time...I choose NAP Spitfires and have never been disappointed but there are several brands that are quality...as long as you are confident in your gear that is key...I look forward to see what you come up with...

There is no broadhead Nirvana, they all work if they hit the right spot. I like compact, small diameter broadheads with a steel ferrule for compounds; have had great results with these when hitting bone, don't think I would have gotten the needed penetration with a large diameter cut.
