Who’s ready for Fall 2019?
« on: Aug 03, 2019, 10:09:31 AM »
Anyone starting to have the itch take over? Woke up to 52 degrees yesterday am and caught that first hint of the smell in the cooler air, you know the smell. I decided to finish the last of my treestand hanging and limbing and check stands from last year I couldn’t take down after breaking my back to ensure they were still safe. Much more comfortable to do in the nice temps yesterday. Been sending arrows in the yard and done a complete punch list on gear for the season and am 100% ready to roll. Cams have been out and Bear will begin 9/1.that morning I’ll go in and hang a stand and that’s that for the season unless something else catches my eye or a adjustment needs to be made.

Until then with all that off my plate and stress off my shoulders trying to find the time to do all that around the work schedule I hope to enjoy some crisp mornings on the weekends trolling some more trout and salmon until then. With a few pig roasts and family trips in between. Have fun everyone this season and stay safe and healthy.

I've definitely got the itch. Then again, for me, it never really goes away completely through the off season. I look forward to September 15 all year. As much as I love fishing and all, NOTHING beats fall hunting. Like you Frank, bow season is my main obsession.
I'm pretty much ready. Cams are out, best stands are out. Few more maybe in some new spots to go up.
Crisp mornings will hopefully be here to stay soon. Good luck out there!

I just stumbled upon a new Remington 11-87 20 gauge youth compact for one of my daughters at Walmart for 250 bucks on clearance!!!! Pretty pumped on that score

Thats sweet! I picked up the same shotgun in an adult version from a buddy for $150. He shot it like 5 times. Added a slug barrel to it and gave it to my old man.

My go to is my Benelli M2 slugger in 20ga. Have had it for 2 seasons now and dropped 6 deer out of it. SST slugs
