Swhacker 100 grain Broadhead
« on: Oct 30, 2012, 09:54:49 PM »
I'm looking for some feedback on this mechanical broadhead.  I currently use a fixed blade 100 grain Muzzy and while I am satisfied with their performance, I've had some problems with arrow flight if the veins and blades are not perfectly aligned.  I'm currently in contact with the company regarding the legality of their broadhead in New York, however, I was curious if anyone had any first-hand experience with this product.

Everything by G5 is a good choice. I went with Grim Reapers and think they are going to be a very good head as well, their customer service is excellent. Plus they are in the US (Utah).

I have studied them and the way they work, I do not see any way the Blades can deploy until they are inside of the animal. That= a very small entry. There is a reason the Steel drum test on the commercial goes so well. The blades done open until they are through the steel.

JUNK save your money! Lost the only deer I shot with them and no it wasn't a bad shot. They are only good for killing pasture grizzlies.

Thank you for all the helpful and informative posts!!  For the guys suggesting other mechanical options (ie - G5 T3 or the Ulmers Edge) have you verified with NY that they are legal to use?  Are they considered barbed?  Thanks you again for your input!!

I know the reapers are, the blades easily swing forward.

Just want to add on the Rage if you go with them. I am pretty certain we had a discussion on here that the three blade rages are illegal in NY but not the two blade.
