Leave it be. Your far better to be comfortable with a weight you handle with ease. Especially in a tree stand.
You have plenty of kinetic energy to do the job. Don't have to be a "he man" to kill deer... ;)

I've had complete passthroughs with my Parker set to 55 pounds using 100 grain Thunderheads.  Like you I could set the poundage up but on cold days, long sits that's the last thing I want to worry about, having to pull back more than I need.  I agree, leave it at 55.

Chris the only thing I would suggest is using a little heavier arrow if your not already. I believe you need arrow weight pushing them to drive them on home. Most guys use these light arrows for speed and thats not the answer. I just switched to Rage mid season last year and was very pleased(Shooting 62 lbs). I killed two does with them both pass thrus. One doe was at 33 yards.

I would leave it alone too. I'm partial to fixed blades though, for durability and not adding another factor that can fail. But the two main criteria for a broad head IMO are reliable flight and blade sharpness. I know enough stories of people getting cut up bad from broken blades while field dressing to make durability a factor for me. I start to lose my grouping over 40 yards, but I don't shoot at deer that far anyway.

No problem. If you can I would go with a little heavier arrow. If it's not in the budget, stay away from shoulder shots. I had the Gold Tips when I was shooting a fixed head. Nice arrows but a little on the light side at 8.2 gpi for a mechanical IMO. Switched back to the Beman ICS Hunters at 9.3 gpi. Not saying you have to buy Beman's but I personally would go with something above  9 gpi.

pile drivers are a good arrow. used to shoot them and did not have any problems. switched to smaller diameter arrows only reason i quit using them
