Im shooting the 82nd with a 30 in draw,Victory VForce arrows and Rage 2 Blades.  The thing is incredible.  35 yards and in, my point of impact does not change.  The bow is so fast and flies so true I have complete confidence in shooting out to 60 yards this year(depending on the circumstance). Where in years past my comfortable shooting range ended at about 40 yards. You cant go wrong with a Bowtech.  I have been shooting them since I bought my first which was a Patriot back in 02 or 03 since then Ive had two Alliegiences and now the 82nd, and I haven't been tempted to even try anything else.

what do you mean by jump?  felt reciol? If your talking about felt recoil its a little more then the general but it is that way because its spitting the arrow about 40 fps faster than the general.  The general was designed to be a very comfortable bow to shoot in both draw cycle and felt recoil...thats why they did so well despite thier odd looks.  If you are looking at the 09's i encourage you to shoot them.  i shot the admiral the captian and the swat and although the felt reciol is still very low i thought the draw cycles had gotten much more harsh, probably due to them trying to step up the speed a little bit with more aggressive cams.

That jerk can easily be fixed with the purchase and installations of the smooth draw cams.  The reason for the jerk is the bows come with the speed cams installed on the factory bow which gives you TOP speed.  The smooth draw cams will slow the bow down a bit, but when they're IBO speed is 320+  you can sacrifice a little speed.  I shoot the speed cams, im a BIIIIG speed man!

i actually handled the alphamax today at a local proshop....  I dont like it as much as the katera.  Let off didnt seem to be very great.  IMHO its not an $800 bare bow....
