Anticosti Island
« on: Sep 22, 2005, 12:48:31 PM »
Hello folks, im a newbie from maine.  I am an avid outdoorsman.  I posted some pics on the biggest buck thread.  Me and a group of friends are heading to anicosti island for a weeks hunt.  We thought it would be a great way to kick off this years hunting season.  As you can see by my pics that im not going there to find the buck of a lifetime, but im still looking for some pointers for bigger dear if anyone is willing to share.  Thanks in advance for any info.  Looking forward to sharing some pics and info with everyone.

Well im back from the trip.  the hunting was actually hard.  i probably walked 25 miles in 4 days and saw probably 40 deer.  i did manage to shoot the biggest buck of the lodge but it was no bruiser by any means.  Here are some pics

this is one of the local deer in town

another local

This is my eight pointer, little basket rack i didnt have my card with me to enter the contest

This is jupiter 30 lodge were we stayed.  10 to 20 lb salmon jumping in the river all day long just behind the lodge.

Here we are hand feeding the buck in town.

Unbelievable that a deer can be so tame. Nothing wrong with your buck tbtool. Where'd you hit him, just out of curiosity?

Nice pictures and that's a nice buck you got too. I'd be real happy with that one. I just spent the weekend up at Tomhegan Camps. You could feed the deer there by hand too. Most of them were still too skiddish though.
