Does anyone know of a good place to go grouse/woodcock hunting in New England (guided or not)? I am from RI and wouldn't mind traveling 5-6 hours if need be. With my new GSP puppy, I would love to hunt some wild birds and not just stocked pheasant. Its one thing I regret not doing with my previous GSP. I have hunted northern NH and there were birds, but nothing spectacular. I am thinking possibly ME for a long weekend? Any help would be great. |

Almost anywhere north of Bangor, Maine is good grouse hunting. |

Thanks Mainduckhunter. Its official. Cabin is rented and I am hoping the 6 hour ride will be worth it with the new GSP pup. If anyone is willing to PM me with some advice that would be more than awesome! I am sure someone else is going to be in the Pittsburg area. |
