What's your favorite caliber for the big woods ????

My favorite is a 35.  Hard to beat a 35 rem pump in the big woods.  My guess on the two most popular guns used are 308 and 30-06.

I would haveto a agree, I really don't think you can beat a .358 bullet in the Northeast. However I prefer the .35 Whelen in my Rem pump. I also agree most popular short action would be .308 and long the aught 6

We all shoot .270 and 30-06. Theres 2 .308's in the group too. Kind of personal preferences. I like the .270. Right now i've got a bolt but i'm looking into a pump.

06 pump or winchester 30 30 most of the time ...however my 280 comes out of the safe on occasion, depends on the my mood i guess.

Remington 7600 in 30.06 with 165 grain rem soft point bullets ......works for our family of 5 hunters

Excellent advice. The 06  is great! It's just that much better when it's neckedup to .358" 😜
