adkroy....not trying to start controversy, but in MT it is legal to shoot turkey in the fall season with a rifle. I have never done it but have friends who have.....I never heard anyone call them a cheater. It is a legal and acceptable way to hunt here.

Sorry. Did not mean to offend you but I was going by our laws in NY where leo and I are from.
Tresspassing on my land is bad, Tresspassing on my land with an ATV will get you shot!

I wont shoot a turkey from its roost tree, but if a turkey came in hopping trees i wouldnt consider that roosting. sorry guys. The rifle, if it is legal, is ones choice.  I also shot a tom with 2 nine and a half inch beard. it was a beautiful critter.

yeah, but scott the rules say 1/2 hour before sunrise ???

i do agree though, full camo and no light can be a dangerous situation when some idiots just shoot at noises :-\
Arch , There is a big difference between 1/2hour before sun up and 20min. before light, it gets light out much before sun rise.
