Stoeger Model 2000
« on: Oct 18, 2009, 08:34:27 PM »
Does anybody else have this gun? I bought one about 2 weeks ago, I love it so far, yesterday I had a little "accident" in the canoe and my gun ended up on the bottom of the stream in about 3' of water, I took it out cleaned it off a little bit from all the mud and it still shot like nothing had happened to it. Any other opinions on it?

I've had one for a few years now.  I love it!!  Liked it so much I got one for my son.  Great shotgun (a knock-off benelli).  And you cannot beat the price!!  We use them for pheasant, ducks, turkey...no problems with them yet.

I hope you took it apart and let it dry afterwords.... The internals WILL rust.

i own one. the bolt handle broke the day i got it for xmas. took 4 months to come back. next my sight got bumped and the threads are stuck in the hole and i don't have anything to tap it with so i got a magnetic sight bar. also, it jams if you don't keep it really clean. I'm used to cleaning shotguns a couple times a season (unless they get soaked and muddy) and not having a problem but this one has to be constantly clean. And last, its not a gas auto so it kicks like a mule. At least its camo though.... i actually do like it though considering these problems. I wouldn't but one again though. Ide get a used Remington 1100 or the newer 1187

I have an old 1187, its killed hundreds of ducks in its lifetime. I wont put it down until I have to! I love that gun!.

The new 1187 Super Mag 3 1/2" Is built on the same guts as the old 1187.. just a bigger chamber. Kicks like a drunk mule.

1100 gas auto has almost no kick. My girlfriend can shoot turkey shells out of it no problem without a complaint. plus the recoil pad on that gun is amazing

I also have a 1100, only its a 1980's trap grade 20g. My father got the gun as a birthday present from his father the year his father passed away. My dad had the end bored out to accept Remington chokes. He has passed the gun on to me now and I love to shoot it at pheasants. Its super light, doesn't kick, and has some sentimental value.
