JJ's Spypoints
« on: Aug 15, 2012, 10:40:28 AM »
Haven't used a trail cam in years, decided to try one, last one used film. :o

The Spypoint Tiny-W2 has a second module that can be placed up to 250 feet away from the camera, the module has an SD  card like the cam and makes a copy of every picture/video. This has a couple benefits, the big one being that you don't have to scent up a spot just to check the pics, you can check them from a distance; one thing I suspect with older bucks is that many are educated by hunters using trail cams and not worrying about scent. It also helps if someone decides to steal the cam, you should have their pic. ;) Also has IR flash. Will double as boat security, may get another if it works good.

Very cool. I like the fact that it has a separate module for the SD card. Especially if some maggot tries to walk off with the camera.

Finally got it out in a good spot way up the ridge a couple days ago, hope to have some pictures this week. Now is the time to try and pattern a buck with cams, pics of bucks in velvet are nice but don't help to fill a tag so much.

This camera is set up for a Python cable lock, thought I could find one locally but no luck; have one coming from Amazon, then I can put it in some better places without worrying about someone stealing it.

They are nice I use them with my homebrews. They better have some serious bolt cutters. ;)
