Awesome pics. The wolf pic is great but I completely understand they aren't going to help anything with the numbers they've gotten to.

It is somewhat of a challenge to NOT run and check it more often! Hope to check it tomorrow after work and see what I got this week. It is about a 20-25 minute drive and then a 30 minute walk into first camera and then another 20 minute walk to 2nd camera.

Can we have trailcams again now in Montana? For a few years there I remember we couldn't have them out because the regs said we couldn't have them out during any hunting season and because of deer, turkey, bear, cougar, sheep, moose, etc. there was always something going so I was never able to put mine out. Has this changed or are you only able to put them out during the short periods between seasons? If we can put them out again now I want to put some out here on my place and try to catch site of some of the cougars around here.

As far as I know and how I read/understand regs " we can have them out BUT not during any hunting season" I am also going to email FWP and ask them for an interpretation.

the law reads :

Motion-Tracking Devices and/or
Camera Devices
It is illegal for a person to possess or
use in the field any electronic or camera
device whose purpose is to scout the
location of game animals or relay the
information on a game animal's location
or movement during any Commission adopted
hunting season.

The way you read them is the way I do too then. Unfortunately the only time of the year there isn't a hunting season over here(Sanders county) is during the summer and that is when I have to do a lot of traveling to get my kids over in Washington and we do a ton of fishing plus work gets really busy at that time too. I wonder what it would take to get them to change that law to be no remote check trail cams? The way I heard it was they were trying to prevent live monitoring of game so if that is true then the regular ones like you and I have should be fine, if we could get the law changed. But then again maybe there were other reasons they made it that way?
