After putting a friends son onto a bird on Sunday, I went back for the other one in there and got it.  Was with a hen, so I just had to be paitient and let the hen feed past me to bring the gobbler along.  Weighed in at 16 pounds dressed with 3/4 inch spurs and 8 3/4 inch beard.

Filled my second tag this morning, tried a new spot and got an 18 pound gobbler.  He had a 9 inch beard and 3/4 inch spurs.  Came right in after coming off the roost.

I got a jake the first week. I always figure ill use the first tag to get the edge off.lol  The last week I killed a 19 pounder. 1 1/4 inch spurs and double 9 1/2 inch beards. Watch the bird all season on posted land and finally he came off it. He was definitely worth the wait. Now his fan and beards are on my wall.
