Went up north to shoot a 3 point or better elk this year for the first time.
When we got there the day before the season we saw this little deer.

4 points on this side!
We seen alot of bull elk but couldn't get close enough or they were always one step ahead of us.
We set up a ambush on the last morning of the hunt. At 6:00 am my wife Cheryl, connected with this elk!

Cheryl then proceeded to gut her animal but then we realized that I forgot the meat saw. We had a
4" saw that fit on our knife but we got the job done.

All in all a very good trip. Next week in 7-15 Cheryl has a bull moose draw so we will see what happens there.

Congrats on a successful hunt.
The elusive wandering bull elk is not an easy prey........I've been shut out on six attempts now :'(
I did have a raghorn dead in my sights this year but not the right tag, in my pocket :(
