I have used the .243 for many years. For deer, I have always used the Federal Premium 100 grain soft nosed bullet. They are just a lot more accurate in both the Remington Mountain rifle that I ahs and the Thompson Encore rifle I presently have. Great round, minimal recoil, but broadside shots are your best bet.
have you tried noseler partition or fail safes those are my favorites from past. i would like to try those accu bond or trophy bonded bearclaws.great specs on those.
