Have not used a slug gun since 2003. I had a Mossberg 500 12 gauge slug gun before and no offense to anyone but it was a POS. I have used a muzzleloader during firearms season ever since then(Legal here in MD). Till now I have wanted this gun since spring, I just havent had the extra money to buy it. I have a real nice pay check coming at the end of the week so now's the time. Shotgun season starts Nov.27th here.

I hate my 500 as well. It has never shot well for me. Missed to many to count and onyl killed two. At first I admit it may have been human arror, but after a few years under my belt, I decided it wasnt all me. I put it away and use ther ML when I hunt in slug only zomes.

I agree SS it was fine at first but then it walked all over the place. My dad still has the gun. He switch out the barrel with a cantilever barrel and that solved the problem.

I have a Mossberg bolt action 12 gauge. Shoots a slug OK. Not as good as my 870 though.
Savage is making some good pieces now!!

   I love my 870 with the canterlevered barrel and scope...  Even though we can use rifles now the 870 gives me no reason to switch....

that savage is dirty. I like it a lot almost bought one but then ponied up and got a deerslayer 2 from Ithaca  and boy am I glad I did 3 shot clover leaf at 150 CHECK!

Looks like a good meat maker  ;). Why not keep using the in-line they're at least as accurate as a slug gun and probably better for range.

Only reason stka is for more than one shot. When I shoot one and the other one's just stand there I'm shooting them too. ;) ;D ;D

Okay called Dick's yesterday. Asked if they had it in stock and no was the response I got. Okay do you know when you will be getting some in? We dint know we only get them when Savage decides to send them to us. :o Next call was to my state trooper friend who works part time at a gun shop. Told him what I was looking for he said they had one in Thursday of last week for $508. The manufacturers suggested retail is $519. I guess my question is does that sound steep?
