.22 JET
« on: Mar 22, 2009, 06:28:25 PM »
my father has an old marlin sight-in guide that shows every ballistics for almost every caliber.... I recently bought a .22 Hornet b/c the ballistics were far superior to that of a mag...with that being said..I saw the .22 JET's ballistics and they were superior to the hornet! But when I asked all around at different gunsmiths and dealers they told me "good luck" finding it and that they are extremely rare.. Just curious if anyone owns one, or ever shot one and if they are everything they say they are?

The 22 Jet was designed along with smith and Wesson as a revolver cartridge. I don't think many rifles were ever chambered for it. It's pretty much a obsolete round and would be a expensive to shoot. Rechamber your gun to a K Hornet if you want more velocity for the gun you own. Theres plenty of other 22 centerfires to pick other than the Jet. I have a hornet and a .223.
