All of the guys I know that shoot long range competition seem to have .30 caliber or larger rifles, a few have .50 BMGs.
I would think the higher BC of a heavy .257, .260, .270 or .284 would be more stable and accurate at those distances. I've always had an interest in home grown and wildcat calibers. If I had more time I would really like to get involved in long range competition. Maybe someday.
