New Gun
« on: May 29, 2012, 12:31:46 PM »
I finally went out and bought the new deer rifle i have always wanted. The Remington 7600, been looking at them for a while but pulled the trigger (no pun intended) this weekend. Been hunting the last 5 years or so with the 750 woodsmaster and not a big fan of it. Killed some big deer with it actually my PB, but never could get over the jamming issues with it. I'm excited about getting into the wood with it this fall just and just wanted people to know.

I have a old 740 my grandfather gave to me and it jammed like hell too. I took every single peice of the gun apart and cleaned it and it has never jammed since.

I have done everything i think i can do to my 750 without sending it back in to Remington. I will never forget one time jumped a good buck out of his bed, miss high my first shot he took a couple bounds and looked back at me and that gun jammed up on me. By the time i got it squared away he was gone. I almost left that gun in the woods right then and there.

I usually try to take pictures as I'm disassembling something like an auto loading rifle. That gives you a reference to both sequence and where things belong.

I always hunted w/a Win 30-30 hence the site name, then 1 of my sons gave a Rem model 7400 for fathers day & I switched back & fourth depending on the weather, but I find myself useing the 7400 more. I don't know how much of a difference there is between the 2, but I like it, great knockdown power. ;D

Just keep pulling the trigger and the BAR will keep barking.   ;D ;D Youtube has videos for everything from gun dissassembly to reassassembly, cleaning your oil burner and tie in a peep sight on your bow. My kids got my ruger 22 pistol all apart and couldn't get it back together. sure enough did a search and found the trick to getting it all back in place.  ;)
