I just won a 22 mag marlin in a raffle but I chose to get a 917v stainless composet stock 17hmr instead. I have shot it a couple times with the open sights and just put a 3-9x40 Barska scope on ti that someone gave me to try. It seems to be pretty clear, not sure how it will hold up but he got it for $30 at Gander mountain and I see it on Optics Planet for $35 with free shipping. Gonna try and get to the range in the next day or 2 and will see how it looks when shooting. Ammo is reasonable, I just got 5 boxes of Hornady 17 gr V-Max for $8.86 each and shipping was about $10 from Midsouth Shooters Supply. They have Hornady, CCI and Federal in V-Max, Hollow Points, and FMJ, 17 to 20 gr, for the same price.
