tweaking my rifle
« on: Mar 29, 2014, 09:58:55 PM »
I'm in the process of tweaking my Remington 700 ADL in .308. I plan on free floating the barrel, maybe some bedding and I have to buy a new trigger guard cause the plastic one that comes with the gun cracks if you torque the action screws to the proper torque. When I order a metal trigger guard I'm going to probably drop a timney trigger in to upgrade the trigger. Hoping to get some better groups from the rifle at 300 yards.
God bless and be safe

When glass bedding shim the barre (I used painters tape) then it will be floated as well. A better trigger certainly won't hurt, but dialing in a hand load with proper head spacing would likely help more.

all I have ever really shot is hand loads, but with the endless possibilities for load combinations I could probably do better  :P. I mostly want to do some work on my rifle so I don't have a completly stock rifle, and a better trigger cause I notice some wierd pulls now and then with the stock remington trigger.
God bless and be safe
