I wouldn't keep another king (or anything else) out of Ontario after reading the DOH's health advisory.

Sounds like the Potomac down here.

Lots of different critters in one week. Looks like the plot is in a good spot.

I'm hesitant to shoot any turkeys there, there are so many predators the turkeys have a tough life. I have the little trail camera there set on video, if I see more toms or jakes I might try hunting it this year but I'm not going to shoot the only tom if I don't know there's more around.

This one is cool with the view through the fan. It took me a long time to get a decent turkey pic. Make sure your cameras are pretty low.

First thing I ever called in turkey hunting was a coyote. We have the O.K. from the DEC to shoot 'yotes all year there. I'd still like to make sure the hens get done breeding if there's only one tom. Only about six of last years 20+ chicks were still there last time we saw them, and that was last fall.

Cool...two years ago Cheeks and I called in a fisher...he got about 5 feet away and that was close enough...I had to move to get him to turn away...wish we had the cameras rolling then, it was pretty neat...

I've had many coyotes stalk me while calling through the years. One lieutenant of the ECO in this area told me, shoot them...I just don't want to hear about it.. ;)  NY is still debating opening the season statewide, year round...Problem lies in areas of high tourist activity. They don't want people hunting yotes while they are in the woods and on the waters...They did discuss a lengthened season to the end of May last year...I think some areas did change, but then they are still having opposition from the animals rights groups as it is when they are having pups. They tend to overestimate the number of people who would actually hunt them...Even a lot of Turkey hunters wouldn't shoot them, so as not to ruin a hunt.

I have had a few coyote's come in to the decoy over the last few years. Season closes here in march and I would never do anything illegal...

Went back and reseeded yesterday. I won't be back there for a few weeks. I wish I had made the plot bigger, It's only about 15x20 yards I think the deer are going to mow it right down. I'll just have to expand it in the summer on the second planting. Here's a bad cell phone pic of most of it.
