Found while Turkey Hunting

I found this beauty while out turkey hunting yesterday afternoon. I haven't found a giant puffball in over 4 years.

Brought in to work and gave it to the science teacher for class. We may dissect it. We're trying to figure out how to preserve it.

can't imagine they are ever good eating.  gave it to my dad to eat,  my mushroom eating days ended in my early twenties.

Was it still good inside or was it buggy?  I found when they get that big they get bugs or little worms in them.  I found a couple the other day and they were just about to big , one was real good.   I slice them in 1/2inch slices , dip in flour , salt & pepper [ or cajun season] then fry in butter.    I put some homemade salsa on some too and that was great.

mine was still good.  my dad ate some and gave some to my cousin.  you couldn't pay me enuf to eat one of those things.  my dad dipped it in egg instead of flour, said it was great.
